Ministry of Arts and Culture


The mission of the Ministry of Arts & Culture is to promote higher levels of artistic expression. The goals and objectives of the Ministry are guided by the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad under the direction of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

The MAC actively works to build bridges with groups and organizations for the unifying of the community through the arts. The Ministry promotes aesthetic, artistic and cultural expressions based on Islamic principles. This includes music, dance, drama, sports, poetry and spoken word; visual arts, graphic arts, culinary arts, martial arts and arts & crafts; the promotion of theater companies, music ensembles, choirs, creative writing, fashion shows, talent shows, film production, video and audio engineering, competitions and compilations along with an annual Festival of the Arts. The establishment of cultural centers dedicated to community development, is encouraged in every city.

What does the Ministry do?


* Works with first-class bands and music groups

* Work beyond religious barriers to develop healthy working relationships throughout the community

* Build bridges with community groups and organizations to help uplift the condition of life through positive artistic expressions

* Facilitates networking and communication channels throughout the artistic community

* Promotes higher standards of artistic expressions

The Ministry of Arts & Culture in Chicago meets Thursday at 7:30pm, at Muhammad University of Islam.

Charity


As prescribed by The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Muhammad University of Islam is the primary beneficiary of funds raised by the Ministry of Arts & Culture.
